Customer support — Swahili and English

Support · Nairobi · Full time, shifts

You are the person a restaurant calls when something goes wrong in the middle of service. You answer, find out what is happening, and fix it while the food is still hot. In Swahili or English, whichever they speak.

What you will do

  • Answer calls and messages from restaurants, hotels and venues during service hours, on shifts that include evenings and weekends.
  • Solve problems on the spot: a kitchen screen that froze, a payment that did not show, a menu item that needs to come off now.
  • Write down what happened so engineering can stop it happening again.
  • Help venues get more out of Tumikia once the problem is fixed.

What you bring

  • Fluent Swahili and English, spoken and written.
  • Experience in customer support, a call centre or hospitality.
  • A calm voice when the person on the other end is not calm.
  • Comfort learning software in detail.

Where

Nairobi, on a shift rota. Full time.

How hiring works

  • We read every application. A person on the team you applied to reads it, not a filter.
  • A call of about 20 minutes: what you have done, what you want next, and what the role involves.
  • One practical task or a day with us.
  • A decision either way. You hear from us whether it is yes or no.
