Tumikia means “to serve”.
It is QR ordering, payment and operations software for restaurants, bars, hotels, food courts and events. Diners order and pay from their own phone; kitchens, floors and front desks work from shared screens; owners get the day already added up.
Four decisions the whole product is built on.
Most ordering software is a till with a QR code bolted on, and it shows on the phone. Tumikia started with the diner and worked backwards to the kitchen and the owner.
M-Pesa goes straight to the restaurant’s own till or Paybill and never passes through Tumikia. Tumikia adds nothing to M-Pesa, cash or card terminals.
Businesses see aggregates and reach their diners through Tumikia. A diner’s contact details are never handed to a business.
Diners need a camera and a browser. Restaurants run on the phones and tablets they already have.
