MY HOUSE IS A HOUSE OF PRAYER

Isaiah 56:7 Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples."
"And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the Temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the Temple. And He taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? But ye have made it a den of thieves. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy Him: for they feared Him, because all the people was astonished at His doctrine." (Mark 11:15-18 KJV)

One of the saddest commentaries of our time is money-hungry Christians. The sad truth is that most of the professed Christians who have ministries today wouldn't lift a finger for God if they weren't getting paid to do it or selling something to make money. They have their reward.
Do you marvels at what the Church has become, with money and power hungry pastors, who preach water, drink wine and pay for it with money taken from the congregation. Do you see how far the Prosperity Gospel gone in turning Christians into monsters of greed.  Many of these Pastors started off genuinely and preached the gospel free of charge. However, with the advent of the Prosperity Gospel, greed set in and as such vices like fraud, defrauding, Ponzi schemes, and manipulation have become part of the Evangelical community. These Pastors have turned the House of God into a place of greed, gluttony, merchandizing, fraud, and a den of thieves and robbers.

It is this love of money that prevents the truth from being preached and that causes so many Christian PREACHERS to compromise. There are a group of popular Preachers, who own millions-of-dollars worth of real estate. They vacation frequently. They eat the best of foods and dress in the best of clothes. They stash their money in numerous bank accounts and have hundreds-of-thousands of dollars saved, and some millions. This is NOT Biblical Christianity.
1st Corinthians 9:14 states, "Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel." Notice that the Bible says a Gospel preacher should only “live” of the Gospel; not parasite off the Gospel, nor thrive off the Gospel, nor get rich off the Gospel. 1st Timothy 6:8 is one of the most unpopular Scriptures in the Bible, "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."
If pastors were satisfied to have just food and clothing, money wouldn't be the primary focus in their preaching.

Evangelist David Owuor raised a storm recently when he accused some church leaders in Kenya of being only after money. The evangelist’s sentiments have received considerable public support, but he barely scratched the surface. The ugly truth is that nowadays, the Church has become the last refuge for the scoundrel.

Though the Bible warns against those who preach or do God’s work deceitfully or for personal gain, this has not stopped many pseudo-apostles, lying preachers and crooked prophets from posing as Christ’s agents.

God is looking for people to reconcile the World to Him.  The Jews had been given blessing, but they had bottled it up in defiance of the covenant.  Jesus came to do the spreading of the blessing.  We have a responsibility to spread blessing, not just bottle it up for ourselves.

God is looking for a House of Prayer.  This is our purpose in life and what we’re called to do.  It’s our highest privilege.  We need to get people saved to get them praying and worshiping God.We need to see church buildings as the house of the House of God.  We can’t let our prayer rooms or churches become a shrine.

If  a Pastor has a Church that will not support his current lavish lifestyle, the result is engaging in Ponzi schemes while using the Prosperity Gospel as cover, promising the victims that not only will they gain blessings but also high returns if they invest in the Pastor’s “Deal”… Brethren, this ought not to be so  Just Listen to this:

  1.  At the end of January 2009, the Ugandan Press came out with stories of Evangelical Pastors who had been arrested by Police on charges of embezzlement and defrauding through Ponzi Schemes. Interestingly all the Pastors were City Pastors (Kampala, Uganda’s Capital) who have been involved in the preaching of the prosperity gospel.
  2. One Pastor defrauded parents hundreds of dollars around Uganda by charging them 100 US Dollars for a Scholarship Fund which was later discovered to be a fraud. This same Pastor for years now, it has been rumoured that he was involved in Child Trafficking.
  3. Another group of Prosperity Pastors set themselves up to ‘higher levels’ by scheming Banks and other financial institutions but by the time the Police caught up with them, they had done financial damage to folks in Kampala only reminiscent of the Madoff New York ‘Ponzi’ Scheme.
